Featuring the world's most remarkable films for children ages 5-12 that you won't see anywhere else! If you and your children are interested in the preservation of green spaces and the environment, this day's films are for you. For younger viewers, a professional voice over will read subtitles aloud for each film, much like being read a story, through headphones. The films include:
10:30 AM - Sauvages: Claude Barras's follow-up film to his Oscar-winning clay animation film My Life as a Zucchini is set in Borneo, where two young cousins and the members of their village protest against the destruction of their tropical forest. If you know anything about Borneo, the world's third largest island, over-development is the biggest problem. The film's stop motion animation is just astounding. Age 5-12+ (content advisory: suggestion of danger may be scary for some children).
2:00 PM - Curious Tobi and the Treasure Hunt to the Flying Rivers: Travel around the world without leaving home in this captivating film that spans Germany, Vietnam, Mongolia, and the Amazon rainforest to solve the riddle found inside a mysterious treasure chest. The extremely entertaining story line also addresses urgent ecological issues in a child-friendly way. Age 8+
3:45 PM - Block 5: A heartfelt story of kids discovering the power of standing up for their values! A determined 12-year-old girl fights to honor her late mother’s legacy by protecting the environment. When a local skateboarding crew bullies her, she must find a way to unite them with her mission to save their shared playground. Age 10+ (Content advisory: swearing, bullying, illegal activities).
