Hardy Green Team

Hardy's volunteer-led Green Team is a participant in the Green Team environmental club for Massachusetts schools, sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.

Green Teams are students, teachers, and the school community working together to help the environment, promoting waste reduction and recycling, composting, energy conservation, and pollution prevention.

Green Events

APS Textile Recycling Competition: May 16 - June 16
Support your school and help reduce waste by bringing your old, worn, torn textiles (clothing, shoes, towels, bedding, stuffed animals) to your school's collection bin from May 16 through June 16. The bin at Hardy is located off the staff parking lot. All donations must be bagged. The volume of donated textiles at each school will be tracked by Bay State Textiles.

This year we will award 1st and 2nd place prizes! Your school will receive weekly updates on the weights collected across the district in order to see where the competition stands and push for the top two spots!

See a list of acceptable donations here. For questions about the competition or to report bin overflow, please contact Arlington School Sustainability Coordinator Rachel Oliveri at roliveri@arlington.k12.ma.us
