The Hardy PTO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization funded by donations from families. To keep the fundraising process straightforward, a direct donation drive is held annually in the fall. The suggested donation is typically ~$145/child. Please note that classroom coordinators also collect a nominal (and optional) contribution from families for things like teacher holiday, birthday and appreciation gifts.
The Hardy PTO accepts PayPal, Venmo, check, or cash for donations. Your donations help stock classrooms, fund field trips, cultural and enrichment events and so much more.
The Hardy PTO is making back to school easier for students and teachers by ordering $8,000 of supplies to help reduce back-to-school supply lists for families. Supplies are ordered in consultation with teachers, and the PTO will deliver them directly to classrooms.
Families will still need to provide a backpack and lunch box (if your student plans to bring lunch), a water bottle, and daily snack. If you need financial assistance in providing any of these items for your Hardy student, please reach out to the principal and they will arrange for the PTO to provide them while maintaining your anonymity.

Research shows that students who are consistently hungry are more likely to have developmental and educational issues. Giving kids snacks allows them to concentrate on learning — not on their hunger.
The snack program at our school, supported by Arlington EATS and the Hardy PTO, makes sure that kids have access to nourishing snacks throughout the school day. Our goal is to provide snacks to any child who needs one so that there is no stigma attached to being hungry.
With this as our guiding principle, we know we will feed kids who simply forgot their snack, are growing, are extra hungry, or are from a family that is struggling to put food on the table. Once they have enough to eat, then they can get back to the work of being a student.
With that in mind, we ask if you can afford snacks, you provide them for your child. But you should know that if you forget one day, we have you covered! If you find your kiddo is ignoring the snack you send from home, help them understand that Hardy snacks are only for when they forgot theirs or are extra hungry.
Additionally, if you have the ability, we ask that you help support our snack program by donating to the Hardy PTO, which fully funds snack purchases.
Snacks are available in classrooms and the nurse’s office. Please email snacks@hardypto.com with questions.
